John Sefick has filmed and produced a number of films and documentaries, including “Searching for E.T,” which was screened in both New York and Los Angeles by the New York Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.  Other works include  “Progress at What Cost,” a documentary about coal burning power plants in the Four Corners area of New Mexico. 

 

He is a skilled science photographer whose work has appeared in national magazines such as Sky and Telescope and Astronomy. He produces a weekly documentary program for Public Access Channel 27 in Albuquerque, N. M.

 

He has worked with the Institute for Astronomy in Hilo Hawaii as a film crew member on a  documentary about the pioneers who established the telescopes on Mauna Kea. 

He has also produced a series of short films that aired on his Channel 27 program. He also helped produce a live show “ Phiffle”  on Channel 27 where he is a producer.  He participated on the films, “Woman on Fire” in Hawaii, and “Lawnmower Racing” in Wisconsin. He has also done shorts for the Vary Large Array and the Magdalena Ridge Observatory.
